Attendees will be provided with a schedule of film selections from which they may choose all or a few to watch throughout the day. Films will portray the world of childhood, including nature play, fantasy, and exploration. All parents, early childhood professionals and those who were once children are sure to enjoy the show! HIPPY USA's National Conference is the premiere professional development training for HIPPY staff. | The event begins Thursday April 15 with a pre-conference session “Building Communication Skills in Young children: a Journey Together with Parents and Educators.” The pre-conference day is co-sponsored by the Nevada Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children. The event continues with the two-day conference on Friday April 16 and Saturday April 17. Speakers this year include: Father Gregory Boyle, Camille Catlett, and Louise Derman-Sparks, to name a few. In addition to a great schedule of presentations on diversity and inclusive practice, Lakeshore Learning will be setting up three model classrooms (infant/toddler, preschool, and K-2). |

| This is a once in a life-time opportunity to hear from Dr. Emmi Pikler's daughter, Anna Tardos, the director of the Pikler Institute in Budapest, Hungary and Agnes Szanto, psychologist and colleague of Anna Tardos from Paris, France. They will share their knowledge and expertise on infants and toddlers from over 60 years of research and training which has been done at the Pikler Institute.
Participants will deepen their knowledge about infant and toddler care and education through learning about important pedagogical principles, relationship based care, attachment theory, motor development, play, and careful attentive physical care and respect for the young child. Participants will learn specific ways to enable a child to be self-reliant, autonomous, socially well-adapted, secure, and capable to have enriching relationships and form good attachments. |
