On this Memorial Day
May 25, 2020
An understanding heart is everything in a teacher.
-Carl G. Jung

A Message from Nancy Rosenow, Exchange Publisher, on behalf of the whole Exchange Team:

Today is Memorial Day, and I am aware of multiple layers of meaning the COVID-19 situation has brought to this traditional holiday.

We at Exchange hear stories from you each day of loss and challenge, but they are told with an underlying layer of determination, resilience and grit. To say we admire all of you who are facing continual challenges would be an understatement.

I’m happy to report that in the midst of crisis, a bright spot has appeared. For the first time ever, an early childhood educator has been named National Teacher of the Year! We celebrate this long overdue honor, knowing it reflects the importance of our field. Find the story here:

If you’re able to spend some time in the natural world today, we encourage you to do so. Remember what Ralph Waldo Emerson said: “Nature always wears the colors of the spirit.”

With admiration and encouragement,
Nancy and team

Heartfelt best wishes to you and
yours this Memorial Day, 2020
