We Need Each Other
November 23, 2020
Friendships multiply joys and divide griefs.
-Thomas Fuller

Dear Exchange Community,

As the global pandemic numbers reach all-time highs in many places, we early childhood people need each other…wherever we live in the world. Our challenges are more universal than individual. We are all doing our best to provide children an example of how to be resilient in the face of difficulty.

I’m excited about the opportunity the World Forum Foundation (Virtual) World Tour provides to make connections with remarkable, compassionate people. As we visit members of the World Forum community in ten countries, I am looking forward to being inspired by their insight, knowledge, and support

Recently I encouraged everyone to enter a contest, sponsored by Lakeshore Learning, to guess the ten countries on the tour. The lucky winners are Janet Berezowecki, Canada; Denise Lai Chua, Singapore; Sary Montero, Costa Rica; Lydia Tebekkanya, Uganda; Roslyn Duffy, United States

And the COUNTRIES are:

Colombia
Fiji
India
Kenya
Lebanon
Mexico
Nepal
Roma Communities in Europe
Scotland
South Africa

If you haven’t already done so, register before January 4, 2021, to receive early bird rates. Very good group rates are also available. This would be a remarkable gift to offer staff (or yourself).

I am thankful for all you do each day with such courage in the face of adversity,
Nancy Rosenow, Exchange Publisher, on behalf of the entire Exchange team

Here’s a great opportunity to be inspired by remarkable early childhood educators from New Zealand.

Bridgette Towle and Angela Heape are two masterful teacher-researchers that tell the story of an unexpected co-created project of investigation. Children pursue ideas of meaning and substance with educators' companionship and mentorship. And educators strive to understand and strengthen children's thinking about their pursuits. It is the story of co-constructed learning at its best—inspiring you to look for, and engage in, transformations of your own.
