Who Are We?
March 16, 2004

"Without love, benevolence becomes egotism." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

WHO ARE WE?

At present there is no consistent terminology used to describe the field that provides education and care for children younger than formal school age (6 years). The lack of a uniform label for the field is confusing to parents, policy-makers, and the general public.  Bettye Caldwell has addressed issue in an article "What's in a Name?" that is published on the Exchange web site at http://mail.ccie.com/go/eed/0135

We encourage you to read this article and then register your view on the correct nomenclature for our profession.  Click on "Home" after reading the article and participate in the Exchange Insta-Poll.

After readers have expressed their opinions through the Insta-Poll we will invite Bettye to comment on the results.
