Fight Donor Fatigue

I love the sound of the pages flicking against my fingers. Print against fingerprints. Books make people quiet, yet they are so loud.
Nnedi Okorafor, author and comic book writer

"When donors become disenchanted, they may not be tired of giving but tired of you," asserts Dawn Marie Barhyte in her article, "How to Fight Donor Fatigue" (Exchange, May/June 2017).

"Donors don’t get tired of supporting causes they care about. Rather, organizations have failed to excite them or talk about what they do in a new way that inspired donors to continue giving... Remedy the situation by taking an objective look at how you are communicating with donors, the tone of your appeal, and whether your message is exciting or exhausting. ...Donors grow tired of repetitive, uninspired calls to action; in contrast, donors are highly motivated by results that can be achieved."
