Research-Based Ways Families Promote Literacy

Resist the limitations of standardized curriculum, and claim, instead, the exhilaration of creating a new world, together with children.

"Create literacy-friendly environments
Have ongoing and engaging conversations with their child
Hold high expectations for their child’s learning
Make reading enjoyable
Use home languages
Communicate with their child's teacher
Visit the library"
