What Has 14 Hands?

In an article in the book Leading Early Childhood Organizations, authors Bonnie and Roger Neugebauer wrote the following:

"In 1978, when we launched Exchange Magazine, we sent out a flyer which asked:

What Has 14 Hands?
Two for slashing budgets,
Two for writing proposals,
Two for making fluffernutters,
Two for repairing Big Wheels,
Two for changing diapers,
And four for fending off bureaucrats.

As our flyer implied, an effective early childhood director must be proficient in a wide range of roles. They must be Leaders…Financial managers...Customer service specialists…Professional development specialists…Marketing and advocacy experts…Curriculum planners."
