Reimagining Our Work

Since fear is mostly about ignorance, the best part is that it's as temporary as you choose.
Christine Comaford

In the enchanting new book, Cup, part of the Reimagining Our Work collection of stories that serve as illustrations of the philosophy of Ann Pelo and Margie Carter’s new book, From Teaching to Thinking, the authors describe children’s deep engagement as they explored a long-term project with plastic cups:

“Throughout the cup phenomenon we witnessed the challenge and artistry of tall cup towers and beautiful sculptures giving way to the theatre and brilliance of their inevitable collapse. The children named this infuriating, disappointing, yet spectacular and enthralling event a 'bash.'

Children became intimately aware of how cups act, singularly and in unison. They developed an intuitive awareness of the cups’ subtlest movements. It was as if they were tuned into a living body that moved and pulsated.”
