Comparing Vacancy Rates

"Genius is a childhood recaptured at will." - Charles Baudelaire

COMPARING VACANCY RATES

Today, we launch the third in our series of surveys on the economics of child care in North America.  Last week we started collecting information on wages of directors and teachers.  Some web site visitors commented that this survey did not take into account factors such as rural vs. urban, longevity, and center size.  These are fair comments.  In fact the Exchange Insta-Polls are casual surveys, not scientific studies. While one should not use the results as the basis for a doctoral thesis, they do present a generally accurate snapshot of the economics of our field. However, it has also been pointed out that the survey should have included other positions such as family child care providers. Next year when we redo the survey we will take your suggestions into account in improving it.

The results from the wages survey and the fee survey are still up in the Past Insta-Polls section.  You can still view these evolving surveys and enter your data by going to: http://mail.ccie.com/go/eed/0161

This week we have launched the third survey on vacancy rates in centers in North America.  To participate in this survey go to:   http://mail.ccie.com/go/eed/0162

While you are visiting our web site to participate in these surveys, you might also check out the Challenge of the Month: Literacy.  You can view the resources offered there as well as share your ideas on promoting literacy.
